Exhibition
The exhibition walks visitors through Africa's story in three chapters — the intellectual and cultural achievements before the slave trade, the trauma of the trade itself, and the resilience and heroism that followed.
This part of the exhibition includes imagery related to the transatlantic slave trade, including depictions of the dungeons where captives were held. It is presented as historical record, in the way the museum itself curates it.
